Methodology
Mirath relies on the rules of 'Ilm al-Farā'iḍ (the science of inheritance), derived from the Quran, the Sunna, and the Ijmā'.
يُوصِيكُمُ اللَّهُ فِي أَوْلَادِكُمْ ۖ لِلذَّكَرِ مِثْلُ حَظِّ الْأُنثَيَيْنِ
An-Nisa, v.11
- Calculation of أصل المسألة (LCM of the fixed shares' denominators)
- Allocation of the fixed shares (fard) first: 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 2/3, 1/3, 1/6
- Application of ḥijāb (blocking of excluded heirs)
- Distribution of the residue to the asaba according to the rule للذكر مثل حظ الأنثيين
